BRB furious over arrest of murder accused

KATHMANDU, DEC 08 - UCPN (Maoist) leader Babruram Bhattarai has reacted furiously over the arrest of local Parshuram Poudel in connection with the murder of Krishna Prasad Adhikari .
UCPN (M) leader and former prime minister expressed serious reservations over the arrest of Poudel through his social networking site Facebook.
In his Facebook post, Bhattrai came down heavily upon the government saying that the latter had done a condemnable act by arresting Poudel, arguing that such war-time cases should be handled by Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
He charged that the government action was spurred by 'some elements who are against peace and reconciliation'.
Chitwan District Police had arrested Poudel on Friday from his residence at Saradpur in Chitwan. Krishna Prasad Adhikari
, a native of Gorkha Fujel-7, was abducted and murdered by the alleged Maoist cadres during the insurgency in Chitwan.
Bhattarai went on to challenge the government to arrest him, maintaining that all war-time cases should be resolved in tandem.

Adhikari's parents—Nanda Prasad and Ganga Maya—have been staging hunger strike in Kathmandu, demanding the government book the killers of their son.
